I am surely dating myself here!
Geez, how old must those boys be by now?! And Iesha, lol!
Well, my spinning time has been relegated to my recess duty so much so that I can’t help but sing those lyrics to myself whenever I go out. And because it’s getting darker a little earlier, I snapped these pics as I was leaving work today.
Wow! Look how cold that shot is. Fall has touched a bit of everything, huh? Can you even see those two little lonesome spindles there?
There they are.
Folks, fall has definitely arrived. When it was warmer, I’d walk out after the day was over and there’d still be kids on the playground, swinging on the swings, chasing each other around, sitting on the sliding boards and waving goodbye to me. Now, the kids don’t stay much longer after school is over because it’s getting cooler. The trees are brown. Even both of my current spindles are brown. Ew. Lol!
And in my classroom, we just finished a few segments of fall harvest and fall festivals and what not. The kids have made pumpkin faces, scarecrows and harvest veggie collages. You would think I’ve really fallen for fall…but I’m really a summer girl. :p
Have mercy. Both of ’em just as brown as can be! People, you know me by now. How will I ever get through the browns of fall? :/ I know neutrals can be SO lovely. But, spinning them, for me, is somewhat maddening. Right up there with spinning solid colors. Somebody’s gotta do it, but it doesn’t have to be me! Lol. I have a few left in my stash and once they’re gone, with my right hand raised to the sky, I shall never again order another solid color in my natural-born life. Unless I intend to mix it with something else. Then, all bets are off.
Fortunately, I anticipated this meltdown and I scheduled a little bit of etsy therapy. :)
Ahhh…Now, that’s better! This is called Evening Dip by sparkyarn on etsy. These batts are made of merino and sparkle. Aren’t they just scrumptious?! They look good enough to eat! I’m just getting two of them. Can’t really afford a splurge, but, I kinda have to get the Brown Blahs out of my system.
For those of you who don’t know, getting the Brown Blahs is like getting a case of the heebie jeebies, but much, much worse. All the color gets zapped out around you, your skin goes all pale, and you start to feel like you’re an extra in It’s a Wonderful Life-the black and white version. Certainly, life’s wonderful no matter how you look at it. But, it’s definitely much, much better when it’s kicked up a notch or two with some oranges and some greens and some reds.
OMG. I really think I can feel the color being zapped out of me right now…I need some color. Stat!
